Menajet

MenaJet is a new chartered commercial airline based at Rafic Hariri International Airport Beirut, Lebanon. The inaugural flight took place on August 13 2004.

In 2003, I was invited as a consulting uniform designer to complete the corporate identity in collaboration with "Mind the Gap", graphic design and advertising agency and with Emile Rassam Uniforms. The choice of corporate colors (yellow and two shadows of blue), and visual codes for an airline identity were definited as well the guidelines to express a strong brand image.

The logo developed for MenaJet is the word "Mena" in arabic, which means "port". It was drawn using a three-stroke brush, giving of an innovative calligraphic expression, rather than the traditional ones usually adopted for arabic signs. These patterns help enrich the MenaJet image across several mediums. Certain graphic elements were used as patterns for corporate clothing, e.g.: ladies scarves.

MenaJet is proud to have a trilingual crew mastering Arabic, English and French which makes it easy to serve with multinational passengers. Besides the yellow and blue brand image, the uniforms follow the multinational identity: a fresh mix with European cabin crew standards and Arabic identity. Moreover, the outfits were designed in such a way that they can be used on both European and Arabic markets. The look of crew should be confident and friendly, calm under pressure but showing the joy of team work and the freshness of a new Arabic airline.

The all-new corporate identity, with a vibrant and colorful look gives a unique image for the airline uniforms. The feminine cuts were fit all kind of body types which respect arabic values.
